As I looked at the Primary school kids playing around whilst waiting for time to tick by during English Prelim Paper 2 today, I thought of this scene which I saw in NTUC at AMK hub.

Lena and I were looking for drinks at the drinks section (duhh..) and there was this woman, apparently a worker from NTUC who was stacking up the drinks from the carton boxes onto the shelves. She was briefly interrupted by the lady, who seemed like she was in her late 40s or early 50s. This is how the conversation went-

L- Excuse me...
W- Yes? /not even looking at her and continues to shelve the bottles
L- Does NTUC need anymore workers to help shelve items?
W- /Curtly. No.
L- Ok, thank you. /Then walks away

I guess she was kinda disappointed and I so badly wanted to smack/hit/punch/kick that worker from NTUC. Come on, the least she could do was to put down her load, talk to the lady by actually facing her. And if she was that helpful, she'd approach the manager to even ask if there was a job vacancy for the lady.

It's so evident that the lady is in financial difficulty, hence needing the job. Otherwise, why would anyone want to take up a low paying job if not for the dire situation he/she is in? Like what my mum told me, if one is desperate, he/she'll do anything. I believe that the lady badly wanted a job to support whatever debt or person. This just shows how self-centred people can be these days. The grown-ups often talk about how youngsters these days just care for themselves. What about this grown-up woman here? She is one good evidence of contradiction. People often talk about the mistakes that others make, but are they themselves perfect? NO. No one in this world is perfect, no one will ever be. I know I am not perfect myself, but I'm just upset about the way that NTUC worker behaved. I mean, sure, her work is important, but she should also have the basic courtesy to even face that lady when she approached her, isn't it?

What would you do if you were the worker and someone approached you asking you if there was a job vacancy for him/her, well knowing that the person needs a job badly?

Personally, I'd put down my work and find for my manager to help the person. Ok, I may seem rather ostentatious here, but it's exactly what I'd do. Everyone has a conscience, at least I think so. If one day, when you think about yourself not helping someone in need when you were well and available, would you be able to live with the guilt?

In no state to write anymore, I'm tired. Pardon the grammatical errors and brief story.

Since Jolene wants me to blog, I shall do a short one. It's kinda boring, cos she's the only one who tags and I only get to reply her tag. 1 AND ONLY! Sheesh..

So, mum's been feeding me with the really nutritional and *coughs*lethal*laughs things. Haha, kidding. They're things like ginseng drinks, chicken essence and the Centrum vitamin tablets. Good things, but they taste really URGHHHH. No wonder there's the saying which goes Bitter medicine are good for you. Btw, is shit acidic or alkaline?

Update: 15 DAYS TO PRELIMS AND 59 DAYS TO 'O' LEVELS!!!

OMGoose! Time to pull up my socks! Oh, no pun intended with my name. This is just a saying.

Gosh, it's not even 10 and I'm shagged out. Wanna sleeppppppppppppppp but I still have to learn the different kinds of formats for the stupid letter writing for the Preliminary English Examination which commences tomorrow.

Ok, it has come to my attention that I am really a noob. It could also be that I am lagging. Since when was there an icon for adding videos beside the icon for adding pictures? /gives quizzical look.

After so many days, I'm finally in a really good mood. Haha, must really exercise more often since it really does help in changing moods.

Benefits of exercising
- Prevents coronary and cardiovascular heart diseases.
- Helps to tone your muscles
- Helps to relax stiffen muscles
- Secretes some hormones which will make you feel better
(Haha, from what I know that is)

Suddenly, I feel rather accomplished today and more hopeful of the future.
Ok, I'd better continue from where I left off.

Since I'm waiting for the stupid things to finish photocopying, I decided to blog. Actually, I'm doing it manually cos it's a scanner? OMG, it's such a heavy job on my printer ink. Hope mum doesn't discover that I'm the one who used up all the ink or I'm dead. HAHA. Oh well.

School's been so draining and I realised that it doesn't really matter if it's day or night - I'm equally sleepy.
There's 'O' Level English oral on Monday and I'm rather nervous for it cos I really don't like argumentative stuff and there's an argumentative topic on oral? WTH. I'm not really good in argumentative stuff and this is not being modest, just being diffident.

Oh yea, there was geog test today and I think I MIGHT pass. Haha, it doesn't really matter if I pass or not since it's just a test and I forgot in an instance whatever I studied? Yea, what a bummer. Was just carpping my way thru and at least I think my crap makes sense. Had lunch with Pek after school and I think I should just let my results decide for me on whether I should go to a JC or Poly.

Btw, sorry Charlotte, I think I'll do that quiz another day. Juat realised that I've to wake up at abt 6 later on cos the Zao An Nin Hao crew's going to school to interview mostly the 10 selected people on the topic- What views do you have on students working and schooling at the same time? Somewhere along that line. Shit man, the worse thing is that we've to reach school at 6.20 and I don't even wake up till 6.55!! PLEASE! I REALLY DON'T WANNA BE INTERVIEWED! Omg, the teachers said that the reporter's gonna pass the mic around. Oh gosh. To make things worse, the programme's screened LIVE.

Msged my tuition teacher about it since he always mentions about how fake the students are and they definitely followed some script.
Here's how it went.

Me - Rmb to watch Zao An nin Hao cos they're going to my school and I'll most likely be appearing on TV. Haha!
Him - Finally. Ha.

How nice, and what's that supposed to mean? Wow, I've just realised that I've typed quite a long post. And I'm still not done with the photocopying. Stupid book, why must you go missing at a time like this? You've spoiled my plans on doing Math today. KNS.

Was forum-ming and came upon this.

LUCKNOW: A 14-year-old Dalit boy, born and brought up in a remote village of western Uttar Pradesh, has suddenly turned angrez . Rajesh, without any evident help, has started speaking fluently in English and does so with a proper American drawl. And that’s not all: He seems to have forgotten how to speak Hindi.

Wonders do not cease with this: His knowledge of physics and mathematics has left engineering students baffled. Having already penned three books, Rajesh is now looking forward to some research work.

All of this may sound like a Bollywood script on one of its favourite themes, reincarnation. However, Rajesh, a resident of a nondescript village 40 km from Saharanpur, refuses to call it so.

In his words: "There is no concept of reincarnation. It is just that memory can’t be destroyed till there are sound waves in the world."

And this is the area of science that interests Rajesh the most. "He has already written three documents, one on memory, the other on sociology and the third on liberalisation," said an excited Shishu Pal Singh Verma, principal of Willian Jefferson Clinton Science and Technology Centre, where Rajesh was enrolled last year.

"I did not take him seriously for a few months but on Republic Day, while the students were reciting poetry before the entire college, Rajesh took the mike and addressed the gathering in fluent English. This left us almost shell-shocked," says Shishu Pal.

Rajesh’s mother Omkali and 16-year-old brother Kaluwa are daily wage labourers who earn just enough to manage two square meals a day. His father Sompal is mentally-challenged. Asked how and when these changes came into Rajesh, Omkali said that it happened almost a year ago when Rajesh was helping Kaluwa erect a wall.

"Every time the brothers brought the wall up to two feet, their father would smash it. Irritated, Rajesh threw a brick at him who was hit in the head and began to bleed.”

This left Rajesh dumbfounded. "For the next three months, he did not utter a single word. When he did, it was not in Hindi," said Jamal, a resident of Saharanpur.

Though National day has passed approximately 21 minutes ago, I wanna wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!
I'm kinda glad to be born in this first world country. I am glad that Singapore's a prosperous and vibrant country, where we get to enjoy the peace and

There's no place I'd rather be, and you'll always be a part of me...
And this is where my family, and my friends grew up with me.

Coolio!!

Besides, it's the day to show off Singapore's strong forces and weapons, as a sign to the neighbouring countries to not 'play' with Singapore - this is how strong we are.

Today was simply a waste of time and I have to admit that school was such a drag that it was seriously not worth going for. The only 3 lessons for today were English, POA and Geog.

Mrs B went thru some stuff about oral which is coming up real soon (OMG!) and I couldn't help but fall asleep. It wasn't that I found the lesson boring, but due to the fact that I only had 3 hours of sleep the night/morning before (since it's past 12 AM). Haha, and I tried to bluff my way about what I did.

B - /while I was sitting up straight and sleeping. SY! Are you sleeping?
Me - /Wakes up due to the *laughs*cacophony*coughs* then stares into blank space. No, I was thinking about the question while closing my eyes.
B - But you look very sleepy. Are you ok? Do you need to wash your face?
Me - /Looks up at her. No, I'm fine. (Yea right..)
/And struggles to keep awake thru out the whole lesson.

Mrs T was absent from POA, so 3 free periods spent in the library doing Chem with the others reading the cookbook for cakes. OMG, those cakes are the most beautiful cakes I've ever seen! The bakers are creative and innovative about the way they strive to be ahead of others in the cake baking industry (think SS for KBE).
Then Mrs W took up 1 3/4 of the lesson to allow another class to do their test. o_0

I think shopping with Anna is so fun. We went to shop for Angela's and Glynnis' presents and boy was it the highlight of the day. Seems like everytime there's something you wanna buy, you seem to be broke. And when ure loaded, there's nothing that catches your fancy. What an irony.

My mind's unweaving/ 11:56 PM

Before starting on another yet /yawn*revision, I decided to do a short post. Well, the PRCs came to school today and the name of their school's kinda funny. Jian Gong Middle School, and in Chinese, it's Jian(4) Gong(1) Zhong(1) Xue(2). HAHAHA! OMG, get the joke? Then the rest of us were joking about them calling Xiao(1) Xue(2) small school. Then if it's a university which is Da Xue, it'll be big school and the students there'll be called big student.
Funny man..

Since the classes are all banded and stuff, there were some of the students in some of the classes today. I wanted to act out this scene while walking pass a few Chinese students

"xiang gong, deng deng wo ya!" /Runs towards the husband in slow mo.
"Niang zi, ni fang xin, wo zai zhe! Zan men yi kuai-er zou ba!"

Unfortunately, no one wanted to do it with me. But nah.. It's kinda mean anw so yea. Might get into trouble some discrimination or whatsoever.
Ok, I think I was the only one in the Chinese frenzy. B and I were really curious to know how the students read English during the group oral discussion during English, but they were just too far away for us to hear them. Oh well.

Had a zuo wen test during Chinese lesson. Did 1/2 of the compo and I realised that 3rd preson narrative's not gonna work out for me, and it's kinda hard to write it in that style given that I've not been doing that for ages. Finished it up and went for the Colours Award rehearsal. Whatever, as usual they kinda wasted our time by hearing them rehearse the songs over and over again.

And I should prolly go off now.

One full day of studying. Hope it'll turn out to be very productive in time to come.

Thanks Jeanette and Jingxuan for making my day yesterday. I wish my life could be as innocent and colourful as theirs. Then again, they'll soon realise that what they're experiencing now will not last forever because this world is full of ironies.

I keep thinking that it's only 11+ now cos I slept for quite some time earlier on due to the fact that I was completely shagged out. Attempted to get up but I realised that like that advert which that guy had the rusty gears and couldn't get up, I couldn't get up to. As the saying goes- 'If you can't beat them, join them.' In this case, it should be 'If you can't beat your sleep, continue sleeping.'

Today marked the day that 4c1 took the last class photo together. It's rather sad isn't it? Ms K made the class comm sit in the front row and OMG, it was the first time sitting in the front row. So uncomfortable please! Had to sit properly, close our legs, put our left hand over our right hand on our thighs. GRRR. I'm so used to standing at the back row. HAHAH! I mean seriously, ever since Primary 1, I've never sat in the front row before. Till today. We managed to trick Candice into doing her well-known-for pose(wo hu cang long - crouching tiger hidden dragon) for the fun shot and she thought that we'd be doing some ah-lian pose. Turned out, we all posed for the photo looking disgusted by her. Haha!
Had the Colours Award rehearsal today and yea, BLAH!! Was so sleepy the whole time. Boring manzzzz

OH! During LIFE lesson on Wed, we watched this video called The Law of Attraction. It simply means that whatever you think of will be attracted to you. Let's say you don't wanna meet so-and-so today and you keep thinking of it, it'll happen to you eventually and so, the crux is that you've to remain positive and keep thinking of the good things which you want to happen to you.
First, you've to think of what you want, then visualize it in your mind and believe in it. It'll come true, of course, with work put in as well.

There was this footage whereby this girl wanted a bike so badly, she drew a bike everywhere, kept thinking of it, visualizing herself riding the bike and believing that she'd get it one day. True enough, one day when she opened the door of her house, her grandpa was standing there with a bike.
Then I was telling Charlotte this - Come on, if you want a bike you've got to work for the money to buy it. It's not as if it'll drop down from the sky. This is stupid.
And she told me that I'm really pragmatic Haha, which I think I really am.

Towards the end of the lesson, Glynnis said - "I want to find a 50 dollar note on the floor. I am visualizing it in my mind and I believe that I will find it."
Me : "Ok, I want to find a thousand dollar note and I am visualizing it in my mind. I believe that I'll find it."

And so, while rushing back to class for Math lesson, I kicked something and it turned out to be a 10 cents coin!!!! OMG!! HAHAHAA. But then hor, $1000 and 10 cents is like a vast difference of $999.90 Anyway, this shows something. I should believe in it (or rather things that I want) firmly. Though all I found was just a 10 cents coin, I'm kinda nearing my goal. So, all hail to the firm believers of picking money from the floor. I shall visualize myself picking up 10 bucks tomorrow, and I believe that I will.

Ok man. That was totally random. But I'm in serious need of cash. Oh wells. ,롥랴쇼홀호로롷로홓허러 I have absolutely no idea what I was typing but I thought it was rather fun to randomly press the keys for these Hangul characters to come out.

I've been sleeping at unearthly hours, so being awake at this time doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Still, I decided to blog after disappearing from the computer world for days. Oh, I managed not to use the computer ytd and studied for the POA test instead, after 2 futile attempts on keeping myself awake. Really hope that I can pass though.. The 1st qns took me eons to complete cause I realised that I kept making mistakes- forgetting to add the drawings into the Current account then having to change all the balancing figures from this account to that account. Oh well. By the way, I'm a complete goner for the Geog test. Didn't even bother revising for it. Ok, just minimal revsion actually, minutes before the test. I put this part into my notebook - Please note that gradients are always in the form of ratios. Thank you. (Haha, sounds like a stupid kind of sentence for myself) and it can actually slip off my mind despite reading that line during that 'minimal revision'. /Pats my own back

Hawhawhaw, since sis' sleeping and she left her laptop on, I can use it without going nextdoor to use the desktop. Ok, this is so random.

This week' been so hectic that I'm on the verge of sleeping for every lesson, which connotates that I should end this entry soon and GET SOME SLEEP!
Ok, I do fall asleep during some lessons. Greatttttt.

Went jogging earlier on and I think I should keep up with the healthy lifestyle in order to get a smaller size for prom dress. Haha! Can't believe that I'm going for it. Note to self: have to pay up for prom soon.

Oh, I went to this person's blog earlier on and every post is filled with words that I didn't uncderstand that I decided to check up the dictionary for the meanings since I've to improve on my English. This is awesome, now I can enjoy English whilst reading the blog posts. Gosh, I sound really geeky. But for the sake of an A1 for English, I guess being a geek/dork's fine.
